So they say Mona Lisa looks straight at you, no matter what angle you're looking at her, because of the way she was painted. I think there's a better way...

Just put the eye's on servo's and connect to a pc running some sort of DIY motion detection software...

It has an 'ignore-mode' too (just mirror the motion detection camera). Or how about 'retarded-mode' :-)
